By sticking to the tenets of clean, straight lines accented with curved, smooth angles and natural wood furniture this home was brought back to its mid century modern roots. Removing an out of place and over the top fireplace surround and replacing it with a crisp and clean steel facade framed by beautiful natural walnut gave this space back it's MCM heart to honor the home's original design and architecture. Warmth of other period fabrics like velvet and boucle and commissioned artwork breathed soul into the once sterile space and provided a cozy conversation pit for friends and family.
A remodel of an underutilized laundry room created enough space for a new entrance with a mudroom. To continue to MCM revitalization of the home, walnut lockers with visually appealing ventilation for the PNW weather provided both form and function.
